On Tuesday, 27th February, our two Young Enterprise companies attended the annual pan-London YE trade fair at Old Spitalfields market.
This was the teams’ first real experience of selling their products to members of the public whilst in competition with other student companies.
Genesis Jewels set up stall to sell their ethically sourced and environmentally friendly range of jewellery, and Little Prints were selling their range hand-printed, ethically-sourced motivational t-shirts. Both teams did fantastically well, making around 50 unit sales each during a single day, quite an achievement when competing against 46 other schools trying to sell to customers on a cold and uninviting February day.
Their sales successes came as the result of having high quality products, well-marketed and presented, and from the team members’ salesmanship and ability to connect with their customers so effectively. The next trade fair is at Brent Cross on Saturday 16th March, and the teams are getting ready for the first round of the Company of the Year competition, taking place at West London University on 27th March. Well done to both teams and all of their talented and dedicated team members!
