Academic

Throughout the Junior School, the girls enjoy their lessons and activities. In fact, they are having so much fun that they hardly know they are learning! In any given week, you may encounter girls dressed up as Victorian school children, a class listening to a visiting author, a group making a film or taking part in a tree survey in the grounds or a team road testing a Roman chariot they have designed.

Our ambitiously academic programme delivered through a scholarly, inspirational, and nurturing environment, ensures that we unleash the potential in every girl. Our challenging, individualised, and exciting curriculum encourages pupils to question and to take risks in their learning.

The First School (Age 4-7)

From Reception onwards, girls follow a full curriculum and rapidly develop skills. Expert and innovative teaching is supported by committed pastoral care. Housed in a dedicated building, the First School is thoughtfully planned with its own library, hall and playground designed for younger pupils. In classes buzzing with activity, the younger girls are absorbed in the fun and adventure of learning – something they will carry with them through their time at North London.

The Lower School (Age 7-11)

Girls who join us in Year 3 quickly settle into our welcoming and stimulating environment. The Lower School facilities are impressive and include spacious classrooms, science labs, a computer suite, art studio and state-of-the-art library. Classes enjoy a broad and varied curriculum, which includes modern languages, science and technology, history and geography, and even chess, all extending well beyond the national requirements. From Year 5, specialised subject teaching is introduced, and in the final year, subject teachers from the Senior School work in conjunction with Junior School staff to ensure a smooth transition.
