Looking to book a birthday party? You can hire the sports hall or alexander room at canons sports centre. Please see below for further information.

SPORTS HALL

Our multi-purpose sports hall is approx. 26m long x 18m wide and has a wooden floor. There are court markings for badminton, netball, basketball and 5-a-side football. The hall can be divided in two, to provide a smaller space for potential hirers. The hall is well lit, heated and has a viewing balcony.

ALEXANDER ROOM

This dance studio is commonly known as the ‘Alexander Room’. It is approx 17.5m long x 7m wide and has a semi-sprung wooden floor. The room can be used for dance, exercise classes or as a classroom/meeting room. The room comes equipped with a small kitchen area.

CAN YOU RUN THE PARTY FOR US?
Unfortunately, we do not run the parties anymore. The host is responsible for organising entertainment of the party.

IS PARTY TEA AND FOOD PROVIDED?
The host has to provide all the food. Tables and chairs for the amount of children attending will be set up for bookings in the Alexander Room.

WHAT FACILITIES ARE THERE TO PREPARE FOOD?
We have a small fitted kitchen with a sink, fridge-freezer, microwave and kettle. Please note that we don’t allow any electrical equipment to be brought in. Please inform us if you wish to use the kitchen facilities.

WHERE DO I TELL MY GUESTS TO MEET FOR THE PARTY?
Canons Sports Centre can only be accessed through Dalkeith Grove at weekends. All guests should be given the postcode HA7 4SQ, as this will direct them to the right place.

Booking a party accordion-plus

If you decide that you would like to book a party with us, these are the stages in the process.

  1. Decide the date you would like to have your party (remember that we only host parties at the weekends). Call the centre and we will check the date you would like to book. If available, we can then make a provisional booking.
  2. We will send you a Condition of Hire form. This needs to be completed and returned to the centre. Once we receive the signed form then a deposit of £30 will need to be paid in order to secure the booking.
  3. Once we have received the Conditions of Hire form and deposit, we will confirm the party booking with you in writing.
  4. If you are bringing an external company to run your party, we will require a copy of their Public Liability Insurance, Risk Assessment and their Safeguarding Policies and Procedures of the activities they will be doing. If we do not receive this before the day of the party, unfortunately the party will not be able to go ahead.

We will call you a week before your party booking to see if you have any questions or requests.
