Partnerships and exchanges

Partnerships and Exchanges

At North London we enable students to succeed in a global society by providing opportunities for them to be outward-looking and internationally-minded through educational visits, exchanges and voluntary work, our franchise schools and partnerships both in the UK and overseas.

We offer over 30 overseas trips to many exciting locations. Our Modern Foreign Languages department runs a historic exchange with the Goethe-Gymnasium in Ludwigsburg, Germany. This exchange was initiated by two Jewish teachers just after the war, one at NLCS and one in Germany, and in 2014 the exchange celebrated its 65th year.

There are also language trips to Spain, France, Italy; sports tours to the US and Malta; classicists visiting Sicily; geographers in Iceland or Morocco; and history trips to Berlin, the US and the First World War battle sites.

We have longstanding partnerships with other schools across the globe, providing opportunities to take part in cultural exchange visits with students from Colombia, Australia, the US and our sister schools on the island of Jeju (South Korea) and Dubai.

NLCS Jeju Gap Year Assistant Programme

Our sister school, NLCS Jeju, offers an exceptional work experience opportunity to young people, both pre-and post-university. The Gap Year Assistant Programme has been running since the school opened and has developed into a dynamic and enriching experience.

The aim is to immerse Gap Year Assistants in the day-to-day life of NLCS Jeju. Through integration into the boarding, teaching and co-curricular programme, NLCS Jeju helps Gap Year Assistants to gain experience in many facets of school life and can increasingly take a leadership role in these areas.
