As the Summer Term begins, we say farewell and extend our heartfelt gratitude to our outgoing Senior Committee and welcome the new Big Six.

We welcome Aiyana (Senior Student), Tomike (Sports Captain), Abi, Anya, Camilla and Zahra, you can read a little bit about each of the new Big Six by reading their bios below.

Hi everyone, I’m Aiyana and I am thrilled to be your Senior Student this year. I take the IB and study Maths AA, Physics and Chemistry as my Higher Levels and hope to study Mechanical Engineering at University. I thoroughly enjoy running our school’s Engineering magazine, Ingenia, taking part in as many drama productions as possible, co-running the NLCS Mental Health and Wellbeing Podcast and participating in MUN. Outside of school, I love playing the guitar and piano, hanging out with friends, doing karate, and listening to music. My current top artists are Queen, Harry Styles and Conan Gray, and my favourite film would have to be Mamma Mia. A fun fact about me is that I am an avid follower of Formula 1 and am a huge McLaren fan. I am incredibly excited to get to know everyone in the school community, help make this coming year enjoyable and memorable, and see what the year brings.

Hi, I’m Tomike and I’m looking forward to stepping into the role as your new Sports Captain. Sport has always been a part of my life and I am thrilled to be able to combine my passion with my love for the NLCS community. I take Maths, Biology and Chemistry A Levels. My sights are set on studying Dentistry at university, hopefully pursing it as a career thereafter. Beyond the classroom, I play Netball and Lacrosse in the winter and autumn terms, and I often participate in Athletics at summer; however, I get involved in many other sports throughout the year whenever I can. I also lend a hand in helping with Junior School events and I write for the school sports magazine ‘Game Changer.’ Outside of school, I play for the Lacrosse Club ‘New Stars.’ Furthermore, I love to hang out with my friends, cooking and listening to music. My favourite genre is RnB and my favourite groups and artists include Bruno Mars, SZA and Destiny’s Child. One of my sporting highlights was becoming one of the top 10 Netball Teams in the country with the NLCS Senior Netball Team. I am so excited for the year ahead as a part of the Big Six and I hope to see the sporting culture at NLCS continue to thrive and improve.

Hi everyone, I’m Abi and I am so excited to be a member of this year’s Big Six! I am an A-level student, studying History, Politics and Geography alongside an EPQ and I hope to study History at university. I really enjoy getting involved in all areas of school life. I love drama and have participated in many school plays including the most recent one called ‘A Winter’s Tale.’ I have also regularly performed in the wind orchestra and have played the clarinet in every school concert since reception. Recently, I have loved directing the year 7 Hannukah play as well attending a wide range of societies across the school. Some of my favourite TV series include ‘Greys Anatomy’ and ‘How I Met Your Mother’. Most of my time outside of school I spend with friends and listening to music. My favourite artists at the moment are Taylor Swift and Loyle Carner. I am looking forward to making a real difference to NLCS and getting to know people across the school even more. See you around!

Hi everyone, I’m Anya and I’m really looking forward to being in the Big Six this year! I take History, Politics, and French for A-Level, and am planning on studying History at university. In the future, I’m hoping to go down a path that will allow me to help others in some way. Outside of the classroom I enjoy taking part in many activities at school; some of my best memories at NLCS have been getting involved in school productions or in MUN conferences. I am also Head Reporter for the school’s weekly newspaper ‘The News Canon’, and really enjoy working with students from across the school. I love watching shows, some of my favourites include ‘Modern Family’ or ‘How I Met Your Mother’. A fun fact about me is that I’ve been lucky enough to travel a lot, some of my favourite places I’ve been to include Japan and Jordan. I’m so excited to get to know you all and can’t wait for the year ahead.

Hi, I’m Camilla, and I am super excited to be a part of the Big Six. I am studying Chemistry, Maths, Biology and Drama at A-level with a real interest in pursuing Chemistry at university. I thoroughly enjoy my role as co-leader of our school’s science magazine, Scientia; this role allows me to dive into all things science based. I also love to immerse myself in all areas of school life from drama to dance and all the excellent societies we have on offer. However, my main passion is lacrosse. I can often be found coaching the younger players and getting in on the action myself during our fixtures. One of my best memories at NLCS so far, is having the chance to be a part of Six the Musical playing the role of Katherine Parr. I can’t wait to get to know everyone in the school community and make this academic year fun and joyful for everyone.

Hi everyone, I’m Zahra, and I’m delighted to be one of your big six members this year. I’m an IB student, taking Biology, Chemistry and Politics at higher level and I hope to study Medicine at university. As well as the sciences, I love learning about international relations and enjoy writing for the News Canon from time to time. Outside of school, I love going to gym and attend weekly dance classes! I also love going to the theatre and my favourite production is Hamilton. I love watching shows like Gossip Girl and Bridgerton, and I am an avid Harry Potter Fan! I can’t wait to get to know you all and I’m looking forward to the year ahead.
