NLCS Roboteers shine bright!

The Vex IQ Competitive robotics season is well underway and our four teams have been busy designing, building and coding their robots to overcome this year’s game challenge ‘Full Volume’!

The same game is played all over the world with 34,000 competitive teams taking part in regional tournaments. Winners of these tournaments will proceed to their respective national finals where the very top teams in each country will be invited to compete at the World Championships which take place in Dallas, Texas each year.

We hosted our very first regional competition here at NLCS in the main hall where 24 teams from North London and Hertfordshire came to compete with dreams of progressing to the UK National Championships. It was a full day of exciting competition with 96 qualification matches and 12 finals matches and when the final cubes came to rest on the competition field our teams ranked highly across the board with:

NLCS_Northern Lights 2nd
NLCS_Probots 3rd
NLCS_Robotrix 4th
NLCS_Phantoms 9th

We’re now poised for an excellent season with 4 further regional tournaments planned after the Christmas break.
