On Tuesday 9th May a selection of students from Year 7 to 10, participated in the Harrow Athletics Championships at Harrow Boys School.
There were some phenomenal individual performances from our students, on both the track and field. These performances secured several athletes the opportunity to compete for Harrow in the next round of the Middlesex championships. Students from Years 9 and 10 will compete at Stone X stadium on Saturday 10th June, whilst the Year 7 and 8 chosen athletes will compete on Monday 26th June. We wish Nilou, Emerson, Annika, Alia, Keya, Maya, Emma, Olive, Siya, Maia, Emma, Izzy, Elle, Bianca, Isobel, Foyin, and Marine the best of luck.
On Friday 12th May, a slightly different selection of students participated at the county round of the ESAA track and field cup, at Lee Valley. At this event, each student must participate in 2 events and are awarded points according to their results. The teams’ point are combined and an overall score is calculated. Again, we had a successful day, despite the not-so-spring-like weather conditions! The Junior girls secured 3rdplace overall and the Inters came 2nd. This result means that both teams progress onto the regional ‘B’ Final in Croydon on 12th June. Good luck to both teams.
