The Junior School had an exciting milestone as Year 3 pupils took part in their first residential experience, filled with science, outdoor adventure and team activities; all without leaving the school grounds
At the end of the summer term, Year 3 made school history by holding their very first residential in the beautiful grounds of Canons.
From the moment they pitched their own tents, excitement and curiosity filled the air. Students a took part in a wide range of activities, including raft building and orienteering trails, working together and supporting one another throughout.
As part of their science learning, they collected soil samples from around the site and carried out experiments to investigate their findings. They also explored the natural world during a nature hunt and enjoyed taking part in team games that brought plenty of cheers and laughter. A standout moment was when everyone gathered for a magical ‘campfire’ inside the school’s brand-new tipi; a memorable way to end a busy day outdoors. Despite the very hot weather, the children remained cool. After a full day of activities, they settled into their tents and even managed to get a few hours of sleep.
This on-site residential gave the children the chance to learn new skills, explore the outdoors and make lasting memories, all within the familiar setting of their school.
