The summer term has brought a wave of sporting success, with strong performance  across athletics, tennis and cricket.

ATHLETICS
Our Junior team delivered an outstanding performance in the Track and Field Cup, finishing first in the opening round with one of the highest scores in the country. This impressive achievement secures their place in the Regional A Final later this term.

The Inter team also excelled, finishing a remarkable second despite several last-minute changes to the team. Pupils stepped up admirably to fill gaps, demonstrating great teamwork and resilience.

We now await confirmation of whether they will compete in the A or B regional round. At the Harrow Athletics Championships, pupils from Years 7–10 produced strong performances across a range of events, securing numerous first-place finishes. As a result, several athletes have qualified to represent Harrow at the Middlesex Schools Championships in the coming weeks.

TENNIS

There has been continued success on the tennis courts. The U14 team have reached the fourth round of the National Schools Sports Magazine Cup and are eagerly awaiting their next opponents.

The U15A team remain unbeaten in the County League and will compete in the county final after half term. Both the U15B and U13B teams have also maintained unbeaten records so far in their respective leagues.

In national competitions, Yoyo and Theresa progressed to the semi-finals of the U14 National Schoolgirls’ Doubles, while Aurelia and Jessie reached the quarter-finals of the U16 tournament—excellent achievements at a highly competitive level.

CRICKET

It has been a particularly strong half term for cricket, with impressive performances across multiple age groups.

The U15 team have continued their momentum following their Middlesex championship win last term, competing in the South East England indoor finals. In the National Cup, they have progressed to the third round with convincing victories over St Paul’s Girls’ School and Notting Hill and Ealing High School. A standout moment in the latter match saw Shreya score an excellent 59, supported by Saachi’s crucial 33, which included a six to secure a dramatic win. The team has also benefited from strong leadership throughout the term.

Another memorable match came in the second round of the County Cup against Highgate School, which went down to a thrilling super over. After appearing out of contention, the team produced an outstanding fielding display, with a composed final over from Arina under pressure giving them a chance to win. Although the result did not go their way, their determination and fighting spirit were commendable.

The U13 team have also made an excellent start to the season, recording wins against St Benedict’s School and St Mary Magdalene Academy. They now look ahead to the second round of the County Cup, where they will face Channing School next half term. Aleena has led the team confidently and effectively in her role as captain.

With many fixtures and cup matches still to come after the break, there is much to look forward to as the season continues.
