North London Collegiate School was delighted to be part of a defining moment in London’s civic history, as Dame Susan Langley became the first Lord Mayor to adopt the title Lady Mayor.
Twenty-six students, joined by mothers and members of staff, walked as part of Strong Women, Strong Future, a striking procession of 697 women, each representing one of the people to have held the role of Lord or Lady Mayor. The float celebrated leadership, progress and the powerful influence of women across the City.
For our students, it was an opportunity to step into a moment that will shape how history is told. Surrounded by inspiring figures and an atmosphere of pride, they carried the NLCS spirit with confidence.
We were proud to stand alongside Dame Susan Langley and so many remarkable women, marking a moment that celebrates ambition, trailblazing change and the future shaped by strong female voices.
