Our annual Sports Celebration Evening brought the NLCS community together to recognise the commitment, resilience and ambition shown by students across all areas of sport.
The evening celebrated not only outstanding performances and achievements, but also the determination, teamwork and enthusiasm that continue to define sport at NLCS. From individual success to collective support for one another, the event reflected the many ways our students challenge themselves both on and off the field.
We were delighted to welcome Tracey Neville MBE as guest speaker for the evening. A former England Netball captain and the head coach who guided the national team to its historic Commonwealth Games gold medal in 2018, Tracey shared valuable insight from her experiences at the highest level of sport.
In a thoughtful and engaging Q and A session with Sixth Form students Clemmie and Katie, Tracey spoke candidly about her journey as both an athlete and coach. She encouraged students to stay curious, embrace opportunities and make the most of every experience, offering an inspiring message about resilience, growth and confidence.
Earlier in the day, students also had the opportunity to take part in a high energy netball masterclass led by Tracey. The session gave students a chance to learn directly from her elite level experience and gain a deeper understanding of the demands and mindset required in high performance sport.
The evening also celebrated the achievements of this year’s award winners, with honours presented across a wide range of sports, alongside recognition for commitment and contribution to sport at NLCS. The celebrations concluded with the presentation of the audience voted Sports Person of the Year award.
