This weekend provided our students with plenty of opportunities for debate. The ShrewsMUN (Model United Nations) delegates had a phenomenal time participating for the first time in this conference.
All had the chance to produce thought-provoking resolutions and to discuss them within their committees. In this conference, instead of getting entire resolutions passed for General Assembly (GA), they defended their clauses to be part of the resolutions being discussed at GA proving that when nations come together, stronger and unified approaches have better chances of being successful.
The debates in the two staggered GAs was fierce and engaging and our delegates made the most of every opportunity to fight for their beliefs and to challenge other nations’ views.
Both delegations won accolades but most importantly, they were truly outstanding ambassadors of NLCS and, as such, received invitations for other conferences as they caused a great impression with the other advisors.

Diora – Final day of ShrewsMUN brought much fruitful debate both in GA and crisis in Security, with Security Council’s resolution passing in GA and awards won!
Anushree – one of the best debates I’ve ever participated in! Every delegate made it an exceptional experience and I am grateful and delighted to have won an award!
Shreya – an amazing two days of debates! The topics were really interesting and I am really happy to have won an award!

Mahi – I had an amazing two days which were full of fruitful debate. I particularly enjoyed the challenge today where we had to deal with a terrorist take over of Tanzania!
Siya- ShrewsMUN has been the most difficult debate I’ve ever had the pleasure of engaging with, and I’m thrilled to come out with a highly commended delegate award.
Maya~ SHREWSMUN has been the most amazing experience ever. Over the last two days, I have thoroughly enjoyed making friends and having an intense debate session. I particularly enjoyed speaking in GA today and overall achieving a commended delegate award.
