Year 1 classrooms were filled with excitement as parents joined their children for Rise and Read, a special opportunity to share the joy of reading together at school.
The morning began with children eagerly welcoming their parents into the classroom, ready to share their favourite books and showcase their reading progress. Pairs settled into cosy reading corners, on classroom rugs, and at tables, with stories ranging from picture books to early readers.
Rise and Read is part of the school’s commitment to fostering a love of reading from an early age, recognising the important role families play in developing literacy skills and encouraging a lifelong enjoyment of books.
The morning was a lovely reminder of the power of reading together and the special moments that happen when families and school come together around books.
