Over the past weeks, our Year 13 students have been receiving offers to study at leading universities across the world. We are delighted that our Oxbridge applicants have had great success this year once again, with 24 students securing offers to read a wide variety of subjects from Medicine to Modern Foreign Languages, History to Economics and Law. Students have also received offers to study at prestigious Russell Group universities and Ivy League colleges in the US. This is a superb outcome, and we are incredibly proud of our students who have had to overcome many challenges during the past two years.

One of the pillars of an NLCS education is the rich vein of academic enrichment available to our students inside and outside the classroom. In addition to their studies, our students take on a wealth of extra-curricular activities and roles of responsibility, highly valued by leading universities. We encourage all students to take on responsibilities in running our wide range of Senior Societies, our Charity Committee and our Peer Mentoring scheme, that allow them to engage in activities that are often directly relevant to their proposed course of Higher Education, as well as to develop vital transferable skills of leadership, teamwork and management. This sets our students apart in their applications to top-flight universities.

Our 2021 graduates have started the next stage of their academic careers and will be completing their first term at universities across the globe. Our ONL’s (Old North Londoners) are now completing undergraduate courses at Oxford and Cambridge, in a wide range of degrees, medicine, PPE, Modern & Medieval languages, through to Economics and Management, and Architecture. Raina, who is studying medicine at Cambridge, said, “I had plenty of help with preparing my personal statement from both my form tutor and subject mentor and during enrichment lessons we got useful tips for our medical exams. The supportive community at NLCS has enabled me to pursue Medicine at Cambridge and be able to develop long-lasting friendships.”
