The VEX World Championships marked a fitting conclusion to an exciting and demanding robotics season, with both NLCS teams representing the school with exceptional confidence, focus and determination on the global stage.
Competing against some of the strongest robotics teams from around the world, students demonstrated not only impressive technical ability, but also the composure and resilience developed through months of hard work, testing and refinement. Across every match, the teams showed the confidence and adaptability needed to perform in a fast paced and highly competitive environment.
Alongside their success in competition, both teams received recognition for their achievements throughout the event. NLCS_Vexalters were awarded the Create Award for their innovative engineering approach, while NLCS_Enigma received the Judges Award in recognition of their professionalism, curiosity and determination throughout the judging process and wider competition.
Behind these achievements lies a season defined by commitment and collaboration. The Ideas Hub quickly became a second home for many students, with teams spending evenings, lunch times and weekends building, testing, troubleshooting and continually improving their designs. Through the process, students developed not only technical expertise, but also the less visible skills that are equally valuable: teamwork under pressure, communication, resilience after setbacks and the confidence to solve problems creatively.
Perhaps the greatest achievement of all is the journey itself. What began with two teams working together in a classroom ended with students performing confidently on a world stage alongside some of the very best young engineers in the world.
The impact of this season will continue long after the competition. Both teams will now begin mentoring younger robotics students across the school, sharing their knowledge and experience to help inspire the next generation of competitors. At the same time, excitement is already building for next season, with new ideas, fresh ambitions and a clear determination to continue pushing boundaries.
