The 2026 International Baccalaureate cohort have much to be proud of today, achieving one of NLCS’s strongest ever IB results-day performances and securing places at their first-choice universities in the UK and around the world.
Three students achieved the maximum score of 45 out of 45, an exceptional accomplishment and one achieved by only a very small proportion of IB candidates worldwide.
Every student has met the conditions of their first-choice university offer. This year’s cohort will now move on to an impressive range of courses and destinations. Around a third are progressing to Medicine, a reminder that the IB Diploma is a highly competitive route into the most selective courses. A further third will study abroad in Europe and North America, while others will take up places at leading UK universities including Durham, Imperial and Oxford.

“These results reflect two years of real commitment, intellectual flair and careful organisation from our IB students. The Diploma asks a great deal of them, developing breadth and depth, independence and resilience: qualities that will serve them well at university and the world of work. We are proud, too, of the way this cohort has contributed to the wider life of the school.”
The achievements of this year’s cohort sit alongside a rich contribution to school life beyond the curriculum. Among them are talented musicians and sportswomen, House Captains, student leaders and Senior Student Katie, as well as students who have given time and energy to service through CAS and the wider life of the school.
These results are also the product of the collective expertise, care and commitment of colleagues across the school. Teachers, Heads of Department, the IB Team, the Sixth Form Team, the Higher Education Team and form tutors have all played an important part in supporting students throughout their IB journey.
This follows a year in which NLCS is named The Sunday Times Independent International Baccalaureate School of the Year 2026, recognising the strength of the programme and the community behind it.
