As we enter the Summer Term we say goodbye to our outgoing Big Six from the Class of 2022, and thank them for all their hard work over the past year. They now hand over to our new committee: Shivanuja (Senior Student), Hannah (Sports Captain), Sakina, Anya, Natasha and Marisa.

Hi everyone, we’re your new Big Six and we’re so thrilled to introduce ourselves to you all. Over the past few years, we’ve had to experience dealing with the pandemic and adjusting to a more closed off environment. Now, we’re excited to bring back the inter-connectedness of the school community that we’ve all sorely missed. This will include more events where the whole school can come together. We want to encourage the use of the Peer Mentor scheme and reiterate that older students are always here to support the younger years. We can’t wait to provide an inclusive environment where anyone can express their concerns and leave school being confident and able to take on any challenge. We’ve put together some short paragraphs about ourselves so you can learn a little more about us!

Hi! I’m Shivanuja and I’m so honoured and delighted to be your Senior Student this year. I’m taking Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Further Maths A Levels and I hope to study medicine at university. I’m a huge fan of the MCU and my preferred genres include true crime and thrillers. My favourite book is Fatherland by Robert Harris and my favourite movie is Pan’s Labyrinth. Fun fact, I actually keep a record of everything I watch so if you ever want any recommendations, let me know! At school, I love running first aid club, taking part in MUN and playing badminton. Outside of school, I like to spend my time cycling, volunteering and participating in various charity projects. I’m really looking forward to being more involved with the school community and I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us all!

Hi! I’m Hannah, and I am thrilled to be your new Sports Captain! I am passionate about playing a range of sports in and out of school and am a member of both the netball and lacrosse Senior Squads. Outside of sports, I love to get involved in different aspects of NLCS life, such as participating in Young Enterprise, and writing for various magazines. For my A Levels I take Biology, Philosophy, Economics, and an EPQ. My favourite TV show is The Office, my favourite movie is Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and a fun fact about me is I happen to be a huge musical theatre fan! I cannot wait for the year ahead and to get to know all of you!

Hey! I’m Sakina and I’m so excited to be part of your Big Six this year! I take Economics, Maths and Spanish for my A Levels and I hope to study Economics with Spanish at university. I love participating in all areas of school life and enjoy spending my time helping out in the First School, designing clothes in the art block, and taking part in Young Enterprise. I’d have to say that rom-coms are my favourite genre of film (recommendations are appreciated!)- my favourite movie is Clueless, and my favourite TV series is Gilmore Girls. A fun fact about myself is that I also play the piano and I love to learn ABBA songs! I’m so excited to get to know everyone and can’t wait to see what the following year brings.

Hi, I’m Anya, and I am so happy to be part of your Big Six for this next academic year! I take the IB, and I am studying History, Global Politics, and Chemistry for my Higher Levels. I hope to be attending university in the US next year. My favourite TV show is Gilmore Girls (I aspire to be Lorelai), and right now I’m also obsessed with all of Adam Sandler’s movies. At school, I play on the lacrosse team, and I am also a saxophonist in Jazz Ensemble. I also run the NLCS history and politics magazine, ‘Origins’. Outside of school, I spend my most of my time in my political group, Camden Youth Council, and on my online publication, ‘Bridging the Gap’. A fun fact about me is that my birthday is on Christmas day! I can’t wait get to know all all of you this year and get more involved in the school community.

I love getting involved in all areas of school life – outside of the classroom, I enjoy helping in the First School, playing tennis on the courts and spending time with my friends. I am also super passionate about becoming a summer camp leader for a youth organisation outside of school. My favourite movie would have to be Mamma Mia, but I also love to watch Grey’s Anatomy. I can’t wait to see what the year ahead brings, and I am so looking forward to getting to know the whole school community.
