North London Collegiate School is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Richard Queripel as the new Head of the Junior School.
Richard, who holds a degree in History and English from the University of Sheffield, has a long history with NLCS. After joining the Junior School in 2012 as a primary teacher and English subject lead, he quickly established himself as a key member of staff. He left NLCS for a brief tenure as Deputy Head at Blackheath High Junior School, returning to NLCS in September 2023 as the Pastoral Deputy Head. In February, he was appointed acting Head of the Junior School, a role in which he has demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication.
Richard’s permanent appointment is effective immediately, and the school community is excited to see his continued impact. His vision for the Junior School is dynamic and forward-thinking, with a strong emphasis on creating a nurturing and joyful environment for learning.
Following his appointment Richard Queripel said:
“It is a privilege to take on the permanent headship. I am very excited to begin working with the fabulous Junior School team on our exciting plans for the future.”
Richard’s passion for education, alongside his love for the ethos of NLCS and his innovative ideas for the Junior School were abundantly clear during the interview process. His commitment to ensuring that the Junior School remains a place for girls to learn and grow is deeply inspired by his own primary school experiences, and he believes in fostering a supportive community where each girl can thrive.
The entire NLCS community extends their warmest congratulations to Richard on his appointment. We are confident that under his leadership, the Junior School will continue to flourish, providing an exceptional education and a wonderful environment for all its students.
