Director of Music, Mr McCall, shares highlights from a busy start to term, including Jazz Evening, the final Old House Recital, and joyful workshops with local Year 4s and NLCS Year 5.

At the start of term, the Music Department had just enough time to fit in two lovely events in April. First up was our annual Jazz Evening featuring the Jazz Band, Saxophone, Clarinet, French horn and Trombone Ensembles, luscious close harmonies from Spiritus and Chandos as well as some beautiful solo vocal Jazz accompanied by our House Jazz combo. We then held the final Recital in our Old House Concert series featuring music by Telemann, Bach, Chopin and Puccini. The performances were presented by some of our advanced musicians in Years 7-9. In this past week, while the silence of examinations descended over the Senior School, the Music School was host to children in Year 4 from local Primary Schools, participating in our annual Year 4 Choral Day. Onto Wednesday and it was the turn of our NLCS Year 5 children to participate in a Workshop Day led by senior music staff.

Best wishes for a happy Half Term from the Music Department.

 Director of Music, Scott McCall
