Our Year 5 pupils took part in the Mini NLCSMUN Conference, stepping into the role of young diplomats to debate some of today’s most pressing global challenges.
Working alongside peers they had never previously met from Cavendish School, Glendower Preparatory School and Pembridge Hall, students demonstrated impressive collaboration, confidence and critical thinking throughout the day.
Committees explored a range of complex issues, from protecting trade routes in the Red Sea and strengthening global resilience against extreme weather, to safeguarding sea turtles from extinction and promoting children’s safety online. Across every debate, pupils showed maturity, empathy and a genuine willingness to listen, negotiate and build solutions together.
A special congratulations must go to our NLCS student Head chairs, chairs, Secretariat and Secretary Generals, whose leadership, professionalism and encouragement helped create such a supportive and inspiring atmosphere for all delegates. Their ability to guide discussion, mentor younger pupils and model excellent diplomacy was outstanding.
