Dr Ferguson led a workshop for Year 8 students looking at the Maths and Engineering involved in the building of the new NLCS IDEAS Hub.
The students discovered why some structures are inflexible, shared their theories and worked in small groups to come up with their own rigid frameworks. The students benefited from the input of Alex Bradshaw, a Structural Engineer from Price & Myers, who is working on the IDEAS Hub project. Alex also spoke about engineering as a career and showed the students examples of rigid structures, particularly in the context of our new IDEAS hub.
