Hot on the heels of the successful launch of the Surge Start-up Academy, we are adding the Surge Seed Fund to back our students in practical ways, beyond the sessions themselves.
This £5,000 pot will be available to any girl after she has taken part in Surge, whenever she is ready, next month or years from now. Too often, a good idea is parked for ‘later’ because the first steps cost money and early funding is hard to access, especially for young women. This fund is there to help turn their ideas into action: a prototype, a pilot, a first run, the first materials that make something real. We will, of course, expect girls to use the skills they built in Surge and we cannot wait to hear their pitches.
