This half term has seen impressive sporting achievements across the Junior School, with standout performances in Netball, Cross-Country, and Swimming. Highlights include the U11 Netball team reaching the National Finals and success in various relay and swimming events.

This half term has been a sensational one for Netball. We have had teams from Year 3 to 6 compete in a multitude of friendly matches and tournaments. For many in Year 3 and 4 it was their first time representing the school and therefore a momentous occasion for them! The highlight of the term has been the U11 squad winning their IAPS National Netball qualifier and subsequently competing at the National Finals. The team travelled to Dorset for the finals, playing against the top 20 schools in the country. It was a tough day of competition, however, the girls played exceptionally well to reach the quarter finals where they were knocked out by the eventual winners. To be ranked top 8 in the country is an outstanding achievement and we are very proud of the girls.

We have also had a lot of success for our cross-country runners and swimmers. Congratulations to the mixed Year 5 and 6 team who won the U11 St Martin’s Road Relay event. At the RMS Aquathalon, the Year 5 team finished in first place, with individual medals for girls finishing 2nd and 3rd, whilst the Year 6 team finished 5th with an individual medal for 3rd place. The girls have had great success at the ESSA Primary Teams Swimming Championships where they finished 2nd in the medley and 4th in the freestyle relays. We are waiting to find out if their times are fast enough to qualify them for the London Finals later this year.
