This term has been an energetic and successful one for sport in the Junior School, with netball taking centre stage for all year groups. The girls have shown fantastic progress in their lessons, developing confidence, teamwork and skill, and their commitment has shone through in a series of fixtures; in netball, swimming and badminton.
Netball
The U11 A team started the season off strongly, winning the annual U11 netball tournament, hosted by NLCS. The girls went from strength to strength, placing 2nd at the Highgate tournament, beating schools such as South Hampstead, Channing and Forest school. The girls ended this term with a nail-biting game against Heathmount, drawing 11-11.
The U10’s have participated in three competitive fixtures and shown excellent performances all round, with their commendable performance at the Highgate tournament, being placed 4th.
The U8’s and U9’s have worked hard to develop their netball skills and game play, getting match ready for fixtures in the new year.
Swimming
A brilliant term of swimming, with girls in years 4-6 participating in several swimming galas. We have had some excellent results, with a memorable win against Habs Girls, as well as our U11’s winning the annual RMS aquathlon. We look forward to our interhouse galas next term, as well as competing at the IAPS competition in February.
Football
Our U11 girls performed brilliantly at the IAPS tournament at the beginning of the season, placing 3rd out of 12 teams. As we look ahead to next term, we’re excited to shift our focus to football, with all year groups participating in fixtures from years 3-6. We are excited to further raise the profile of girls’ football across the school.
