Last week, the Junior School was buzzing with excitement as we celebrated Science Week, diving into the theme of ‘Change and Adapt’!
The week kicked off with an inspiring assembly from Class 5F, where we explored what makes a good scientist. We realised that science is for everyone—all we need is curiosity! By using our eyes to observe, our brains to question, and our minds to think critically, we can all make incredible discoveries.
Each long break, our senior students joined us to run exciting hands-on experiments and demonstrations:
Yeti Hand – exploring chemical reactions
Extracting Strawberry DNA – uncovering the building blocks of life
Elephant’s Toothpaste – creating an explosive foam reaction
Adaptation Activities – understanding how animals survive in different environments
Thank you to the SS for all their help with running these fun activities.
We were also blown away by the creativity in our Science Poster Competition! The theme ‘Change and Adapt’ inspired impressive, high-level entries from so many of our young scientists.
Well done to all who took part!
