On Sunday 8 June, we were delighted to welcome nearly 100 Old North Londoners (ONLs) and Honorary ONLs (former staff) back to school for our Half Decades Reunion — a joyful gathering for those who left NLCS in 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, and 2010.
Guests reconnected over welcome drinks before enjoying lunch in the Dining Hall in the company of friends old and new with speeches from Headmistress Vicky Bingham and Alumnae Relations Manager Sonal Dhadphale.
Laughter, hugs, and stories filled the corridors as former students explored the school at their own pace — many for the first time in decades. Alongside familiar spaces like the Sixth Form Common Room, Main Hall, Budge Square and Lime Avenue, the newly opened Ideas Hub proved especially popular. Bringing together science, technology, and the arts in a dynamic collaborative space, it prompted one ONL to reflect, “My 15-year-old self would have lived in the Ideas Hub – it reflects exactly what I went on to study at university!”
The day struck a perfect balance of nostalgia and celebration, with milestone years marked in style, memories rekindled – and even a photo booth to capture a few new ones! As one guest summed it up, “…a huge thank you for such a lovely ONL reunion – I had such a brilliant time being back at NLCS!”
The day was a powerful reminder of the strength of the NLCS community, where friendships and shared experiences formed at school continue to create a lifelong sense of connection, pride, and belonging.
