This Summer Term, every girl in the Junior School rolled up her sleeves and headed out to Canons Park for a hands-on community service project that left a lasting mark on this much-loved green space.

Armed with litter pickers, trowels, and plenty of enthusiasm, the girls transformed patches of the park. They built two bug hotels, brightened the Memorial Garden with new flowers, and helped enhance the park’s environment for visitors and wildlife alike. The girls also enjoyed outdoor learning activities, taking part in scavenger hunts, investigating trees, and following a herb walk to discover the medicinal plants growing throughout the park

Their efforts went far beyond the day itself. Through cake sales, non-uniform days, and concert collections, the Junior School raised a fantastic £1,300+ for Friends of Canons Park, funds that will directly support the ongoing care and upkeep of this cherished community space for years to come.

We are incredibly proud of the girls’ generosity, enthusiasm, and commitment throughout the year. Through their contributions and acts of service, they have demonstrated that even the smallest actions can make a meaningful difference
