NLCS was delighted to welcome a number of distinguished university representatives to speak with our students and parents, offering valuable insights into higher education across the United States and Europe.
Admissions Officers from Emory University, the University of Chicago, and Yale University joined us to share their perspectives on the distinctive academic and social experiences each of their institutions offers. Their engaging presentations were followed by an impressive array of thoughtful questions from our students and parents, covering topics such as curriculum design, student culture, and the nuances of the US application process. The evening concluded in a relaxed setting with refreshments, where informal conversations continued, allowing for further discussion and advice from our guests.
On Tuesday 14 October, we were also privileged to host Dr Zwitserloot from Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Dr Zwitserloot introduced our prospective applicants to the Dutch Liberal Arts and Sciences degree at University College Utrecht, as well as the Global Sustainability Science programme. Her talk provided a fascinating glimpse into the flexibility and international outlook of Dutch higher education, particularly the opportunities for study in English within a vibrant European context.
Events such as these exemplify the global outlook that is central to the NLCS ethos. Our students are encouraged to explore widely, think deeply, and engage confidently with the world of possibilities that lie beyond the classroom.
