When the heatwave forced us to cancel this year’s Year 4 residential trip to Bushcraft, our teachers refused to let disappointment take over. Instead, they quickly designed an exciting alternative right here at school: Explorer Games 2026.
The Explorer Games kicked off with a series of engaging computing challenges, giving our pupils the chance to put their problem-solving skills to the test. The children then swapped keyboards for costumes, throwing themselves into a range of lively Drama activities.
The excitement continued as pupils tried their hand at code breaking, tested their fitness with some swimming, and put their navigation skills to the test with orienteering. They also faced the ultimate challenge of teamwork and wit in an escape room.
The experience culminated in a special awards ceremony in the Lower School Hall, where Mr Queripel presented certificates to celebrate every child’s participation. There was also special recognition for pupils who particularly demonstrated our school’s Learning Habits throughout the Explorer Games.
A huge thank you to our Year 4 teachers for turning a disappointing change of plan into a fantastic and memorable experience for our pupils
