On Wednesday Science Café welcomed Dr Vanessa Sancho-Shimizu for Imperial College Department of Infectious Disease.
Dr Sancho-Shimizu interests include understanding the predisposition to rare childhood infections such as encephalitis and meningococcal disease. Her research focuses specifically on assessing rare genetic variants identified via whole-exome sequencing that affect responses to viral or bacterial infectious using patient-based cells with the aim of identifying new inborn errors of immunity.
Many thanks to Dr Sancho Shimizu for delivering such a fascinating and informative talk.
