On Tuesday 2 July, the Sports Department hosted a memorable celebration event to honour the remarkable achievements of our students in a wide range of sports.
This event, saw students, staff, and guests gather to acknowledge the hard work, dedication, and exceptional talent demonstrated by our young athletes.
The ceremony featured nominations in various categories, including Team of the Year, Form of the Year, and Sports Person of the Year. These awards were designed to recognise the unwavering commitment and outstanding performances of our students across different sports. The excitement in the room was palpable as nominees eagerly awaited the announcement of the winners.
Adding a touch of star power to the evening, we were thrilled to welcome former England cricket captain Charlotte Edwards CBE as our guest speaker. Charlotte, a legend in the world of cricket, shared her inspiring journey in professional cricket. She recounted the numerous challenges she faced, her resilience in overcoming them, and the triumphs that defined her illustrious career. Among her many achievements, she highlighted her multiple World Cup and Ashes victories, receiving a CBE from the Queen, and her triumphant appearance on the popular TV show Ready Steady Cook!
Charlotte ended her address by emphasizing the importance of hard work, resilience, and self-belief, encouraging our students to pursue their passions with determination and confidence. Her powerful message resonated deeply with everyone present, inspiring our young athletes to strive for excellence in their own sporting endeavours.
