On Sunday 9 June, we were visited by classes of 1979, 1989, 1999, and 2009 for another joyous reunion, we were glad to be joined also by a few cherished former teachers, who were delighted to catch up with some of their old pupils.
Many ONLs had not set foot inside NLCS or seen each other for many years so on arrival the air was filled with exclamations of surprise, delight, and much laughter. Very kindly, one ONL brought back her class photos, while another… rather mischievously finally returned a rather dog-eared library book, …over 45 years late!
We are all grateful to the catering team from Chartwells, who provided a delicious two-course lunch, which gave everyone an opportunity to sit down, relax, and continue their conversations. Before the meal we had a few words from Deputy Head, Jess Bedi, who provoked a flutter of excitement as she announced the exciting news that the ONL vs students matches will be making a return to the ONL events calendar.
As the day drew to a close, there was a collective sense of renewed camaraderie, and perhaps a reminder us all that school friendships, that can be so formative in our youth, may be cherished still.
