We are thrilled to announce that our talented Canons Choir were once again crowned the GSA Junior Choir of the Year 2024 for the second year running.
Canons Choir were victorious in an impressive field of Junior choirs from across the country, who took part in the Grand Final at Wimbledon High School on 28 April.
After stunning performances, the judges commended the girls’ “amazing attention to detail”, and “awesome” performances, praising them for handling such a challenging repertoire so impressively. Director of Music, Mrs Cox added: “I am incredibly proud of the girls. They showed maturity and musicality beyond their years and were an absolutely credit to our school”.
The day finished with a very special moment when all the Junior and Senior finalists came together to perform ‘Singing for Joy’ a beautiful piece composed by Simon Lole to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Girls’ Schools Association.
