On Monday 25th November, Canons Choir joined over 900 Barnardo’s Young Supporters from school choirs across the UK for an evening of inspirational music and song, supported by the world –famous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the iconic Royal Albert Hall.
As winners (for the second year in a row) of the Barnardo’s Junior Choir of the Year competition, Canons Choir had earned the honour of singing a solo piece at the concert. Under the Director of Music Mrs Cox, the girls captivated the audience with their beautiful harmonies and depth of emotion as the notes of Darius Lim’s enchanting Night of Rainbows filled the hall. The girls represented the school brilliantly and made us all very proud. They even received a special mention from the conductor Benjamin Pope of the Royal Philharmonic. High praise indeed.
The Supporters Concert has raised over £80k for the children who desperately need help this winter. Canons choir feel privileged to be part of this good cause. This extraordinary musical experience will be a memory much treasured by all of those who took part.
