Last week, The whole school enjoyed raising awareness of Anti-Bullying Week and promoting difference following this years national theme: Choose Respect
On Tuesday 12th November, staff and pupils in the Junior and Senior School were encouraged to wear mismatched socks on Odd Socks Day. On Wednesday, our Sixth Form Peer Mentors and Mental Health and Wellbeing Society lead a lovely, creative session of their Healing Hearts Club with Middle School students. Our students (and Mrs Dawson!) created colourful heart shaped “Choose Respect” bunting which is now on show from the Cedar Space windows. The idea was that the hearts and letters were all different, certainly perhaps a little imperfect, a bit like the odd socks we wore the day before! It was lovely to hear junior school students doing a tour with pointing it out and explaining what it was.
One of the highlights was the Peer Mentors inadvertently dressing in bright colours which chimed with the emotions of the Inside Out characters!
Our school counsellors will be leading a Cedar Space session this week to follow up on the week’s theme Respect: Find out What it Means to Me. Students are invited to come along on Thursday lunchtime for a reflective discussion of the topic. Thursday’s form time Discussion Group will also reflect on the theme in the Cedar Space.
