From cake stalls to crafting tables, CanonAid and the School Council have led thoughtful campaigns in support of Hand on Heart.
This half term, CanonAid and the School Council have been busy leading our charitable efforts with energy, compassion and creativity. We were proud to launch our chosen charity, Hand on Heart, with a special assembly, where the founder spoke powerfully about their mission and the incredible impact of their work. The charity, which began in 2007 serving rough sleepers in West London, now supports vulnerable people all across England by providing essential items such as food parcels, seasonal packs for the homeless, and stationery-filled backpacks for disadvantaged children. Their vision is for a fairer society where everyone, regardless of background, can find stability and dignity.
Inspired by this message, our school community has come together to make a difference. Year 3 kicked things off with a fantastic cake sale, raising over £250! At the end of the half term, we will be holding a non-uniform day, with all proceeds going towards Hand on Heart.
After the break, the School Council will be running a series of creative fundraising workshops. Girls will be able to sign up for arts and crafts activities, including origami, bracelet making, mask decorating and even biscuit designing, all for a small donation to support the cause.
We’re also looking forward to the upcoming Year 4 cake sale and, to round things off, we will be holding a special Packing Day. Every child in the Lower School will have the opportunity to pack a bag full of useful items that will be distributed by the charity as part of their summer support scheme for homeless and vulnerable people.
We are so proud of the girls’ enthusiasm and generosity. Through these activities, they are not only raising funds but also awareness – living out the values of kindness and community spirit that are at the heart of our school.
