The Spring Term has been one of the busiest and most successful in recent school sporting history, with students taking part in more than 300 fixtures across numerous disciplines. This season has showcased exceptional commitment, sportsmanship and team spirit, resulting in impressive performances at every level.
NETBALL
NLCS netball concluded a demanding and wide‑ranging programme this term, featuring friendlies, county fixtures, invitationals and national‑level competition. Remarkably, every age group progressed to the Middlesex finals — a feat matched by only one other school in the county. Placings included seventh for U12, sixth for U13, fifth for both U14 and the Senior squad, fourth for U16 and a strong third‑place finish for U15. Development teams also impressed across the Emerging Teams Tournament. The Ajayi Cup, recognising exceptional performance, was awarded to Jada.
CROSS‑COUNTRY
Cross‑country runners produced commanding displays at the Harrow Championships, where both the Minor and Junior teams claimed their respective titles. Jiatan and Martha added individual victories, and Jiatan went on to earn selection for the Middlesex team for a second year running.
SWIMMING
It was another successful term in the pool. Both Junior and Senior swimmers qualified for the Herts League Finals, with the Junior Team securing third place and several athletes — including Isabelle — delivering standout swims. Year 7 A and B teams followed with third‑ and fourth‑place finishes, while the combined Year 7 & 8 squad achieved fifth at the North of the River Finals.
LACROSSE
Lacrosse teams continued their strong upward trajectory, beginning with third‑place finishes for both U12A and U12B at the Tri County Tournament, a runner‑up position for U13B, and a title‑winning performance from U13A. The momentum carried into National Schools, where U19B reached the Division 2 semifinals, U19A advanced to the Division 1 quarterfinals, U15 finished in the national top 16, U13 won the Division 1 bracket and U14 secured a historic national semifinal place — the school’s best result to date.

FOOTBALL
NLCS football enjoyed an impressive term, highlighted by a dominant 12–0 victory for the U13 side in the English Schools 9‑a‑side National Cup and continued progress across friendly fixtures and competition play.
U11 & U13 Residential Trip – St George’s Park, written by: Melina‑Rose
On 21st March 2026 – 22nd March 2026, the U11 and U13 football squads participated in a wonderful residential at St George’s Park, the training centre and residence of many English football teams. They began their stay by playing several hours of football matches, in which they worked together to score many amazing goals. As well as this, the teams experienced hydrotherapy, where they took part in some relaxing exercises in the swimming pool, ending with a fun session of water basketball which lifted everyone’s spirits. After a scrumptious dinner, the teams finished the day by spending some time together playing a game of futsal, a sport similar to football, played on a hard-court using a ball heavier than a football. Their second day began with several more football matches, completing the tournament. Everyone was in suspense at the award ceremony, in which they each received a gold medal and the U13 team also won a gold plate. Leaving St George’s was hard but everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay.
BADMINTON
It was another commanding season for badminton, with U14 and U16 squads completing their league campaigns undefeated to claim the Herts and Middlesex titles. The U16s pushed further still, finishing fourth nationally in the School Sports Magazine Cup.
TENNIS
Year 10 players delivered a strong showing at the Pamela Flower Doubles Tournament. Eliana and Sarah produced a composed run to finish as runners‑up, while Maia and Amaya claimed the title with a confident, well‑controlled performance in the final.
CRICKET
Indoor cricket saw teams competing across both MCC and ECB championships. The U15 squad impressed at Lord’s, finishing second at the MCC London Schools Championships. The U13 team came agonisingly close to ECB progression, while the U15s lifted the Middlesex Indoor County Championship, earning a place at Regional Finals.

SKIING
Skiers made their mark at the British Schoolgirls’ Races in Flaine, securing bronze in the parallel slalom. A second team competing at the Verbier Interschools also delivered consistent, technically refined runs across the programme.
ARTISTIC SPORTS
The senior dance team achieved an impressive sixth‑place finish at the Great Big Dance Off, while U13 and U15 gymnasts produced polished routines at the ISGA Nationals, earning high placements and individual recognition. Cheerleaders continued to build ambitious new choreography ahead of the summer showcase.
INDOOR ATHLETICS
The Year 8 indoor athletics squad advanced to the London Youth Games Final after strong qualifying rounds, ultimately finishing sixth in an exceptionally competitive field.
SPECIAL AWARDS
The Johanson Green Shield — awarded for outstanding team spirit and dedication — was presented to Sola, recognising consistent commitment across multiple sporting activities.
