The Guild supports a wide range of school activities across the year. This includes helping at Admissions Open Mornings and School in Action events, running Good as New uniform sales, and organising popular social and fundraising events such as the Summer Fair, Fireworks Night, Christmas Fair and Games Night. These activities bring parents together, support the life of the school, and help make important projects and enhancements possible.

The Parents’ Guild is rooted in goodwill, respect and a shared sense of community. We ask all parents involved to contribute positively, treat others with courtesy, respect confidentiality where appropriate, and support the life of the school in an inclusive and constructive spirit.

There are many ways to take part, whether you can offer a few hours occasionally or would like to play a more regular role. You might volunteer at an event, donate raffle prizes, support through sponsorship, share ideas for future activities, or offer skills and expertise that could help the Guild develop its work. Whatever your availability, we would be delighted to hear from you.

VOLUNTEER THANK YOU EVENING

In 2026, the school proudly introduced a new annual tradition: the Volunteer Thank You Evening. The event celebrated the time, commitment and generosity of the many volunteers who supported Parent Guild events and school admissions initiatives throughout the year.

The evening provided a wonderful opportunity to express the school’s heartfelt appreciation while bringing volunteers together in a warm and welcoming setting. It recognised the invaluable role volunteers play in strengthening our school community and the positive impact of parent contributions.

The Thank You Evening will now become a permanent feature of the NLCS calendar, ensuring that every year we take the time to recognise, celebrate and thank the volunteers whose dedication helps our community thrive.

The Parent Guild has been a valued part of the NLCS community for many years, bringing families together through events and fundraising that have supported significant whole-school projects. To build on these strengths while encouraging fresh ideas and wider participation, a new Guild model has been introduced and slowly being incorporated into the school community.

The new structure provides clear terms of service, with Officer roles following a three-year cycle comprising one year as an Officer Elect followed by two years as the Lead Officer. This approach ensures effective succession planning, continuity, and regular opportunities for new volunteers to become involved.

The four Officer roles are:

Senior School Vice-Chair
Junior School Vice-Chair
Treasurer
Second-hand Uniform Coordinator

The Guild Committee will also include representatives from different stages of the school, with each Committee Member serving a two-year term, progressing from a supporting role to leading their area of responsibility. This refreshed structure is designed to strengthen community engagement, encourage greater parent involvement, and ensure the Parent Guild continues to thrive for future generations.
