Prince's Teaching Institute 2017
The annual Prince’s Teaching Institute Summer Residential Course took place at Homerton College, University of Cambridge, last June. The Prince’s Teaching Institute, co-founded by Mrs. McCabe, is a charity which aims to inspire teachers from many different schools around the country, and provide them with the opportunity to explore different aspects of teaching, and improve their own teaching skills.
The PTI supports the idea that all pupils, regardless of their background, are entitled to informative and innovative lessons taught by passionate teachers, and therefore, a main aspect of the course is reminding teachers of their love and passion for their subject, away from their classroom setting.
This year’s three-day residential course focused on the Arts, and included workshops and lectures for Art, English, Geography and Music. Featuring seminars, lectures and workshops, each subject had a variety of speakers giving lectures and leading workshops on a range of different topics, including key-note speakers such as Professor John Mullan and Tim Lihoreau.
All the girls had a marvellous time and found it extremely enriching.
