The Senior Orchestra
The Senior Orchestra is non-auditioned and has produced some fine performances over the years including Beethoven’s 6th Symphony, McCunn's Land of the Mountain and Flood, Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake Suite and Brahms's 3rd Symphony.
The Senior Choir is non-auditioned and has sung some of the finest choral pieces in the last decade including Faure's Requiem, Pergolesi's Magnificat, Haydn's Te Deum, Mozart's Requiem Mass and Kodaly's Messa Brevis etc.
There are 2 auditioned groups in the Upper School, the Chandos singers and the Senior chamber choir. These choirs sing a wide repertoire of songs which include first performances and other challenging works.
Soul Band is by audition and remains a popular item in senior concerts. It provides a great opportunity for the girls to enjoy and perform the great rock and pop numbers of the 20th Century.
The String Orchestra is by invitation only and for players Grade 6 and above. This orchestra aims to challenge the most advanced players at North London Collegiate School by providing them with the opportunity to perform works such as the Adagio from Mahler's 5th Symphony, Bach's Violin Concerto in A Minor, Elgar's Serenade for Strings etc.
There are many ensembles including clarinet, flute, saxophone and brass groups that have the opportunity to play in the Senior concerts.
