North London Collegiate’s annual ‘Extracts’ was held on 16th November. Girls from Yrs 10 to 13 performed imaginative pieces that they had prepared and directed themselves. The evening had a wonderful atmosphere, enhanced by the Drama Studio being transformed into a cosmopolitan café.
The Importance of Being Ernest was performed in a rather comical way. The group thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Extracts and commented that it had been a really great experience to direct the scene themselves. Other texts included Educating Rita, Richard the Third and My Heart is a Suitcase.
Many thanks go to everyone involved for making the performances so enjoyable, especially Performing Arts Society. Davina Moss commented on behalf of the Society that ‘Extracts gives us the opportunity to explore our favourite plays or playwrights outside the syllabus and try new and exciting dramatic ideas’.
