Supporting North London Collegiate's future...
From its inception, NLCS has offered the finest possible education to girls from a wide economic background. Based in the ethos, the Development Office raises funds to
- Provide more bursaries for talented girls of modest means
- Maintain and enhance the School's extraordinary buildings and grounds
- Support efforts to keep the School at the pinnacle of academic, cultural and sporting achievement.
We offer almost 10% of the pupils in the Senior School some level of help with fees. We are constantly raising funds to increase the number of bursary places we can offer, with the goal that no girl is turned away because of need.
Similarly, from the beginning of the School until the present day, the School's buildings and grounds exist because of the generosity of our supporters. Frances Mary Buss opened the doors of her own home to start this great institution. Her supporters, including ONLs, helped raise the funds for Sandel Road; then the funds to purchase Canons; then the funds to build the great buildings here. In recent years, supporter generosity has made possible the McLauchlan Library, the Canons Sports Centre, the Sports Pavilion, the Performing Arts Centre and Old House Sixth Form Centre.
In common with most independent girls' schools, we have no historic endowment to assist us with funding major projects or bursaries. The success of the school depends on the generosity of its supporters. We welcome every single gift, of whatever amount. Some can simply make a small one-time gift. Others may be able to make major leadership gifts. For others, legacy giving through bequests are the most feasible option for giving.
We also welcome hearing from our supporters. Please feel free to contact me, or anyone in the Development Office, if you have any ideas, comments or suggestions.
