The
National Children’s Orchestra (NCO) has offered
Katie Kwong (Yr 7) the opportunity to lead the
U13 Main and
Regional Orchestra for the third year running.
She has also been awarded a
Leverhulme Scholarship (an award given to the four children with the highest standard in each orchestra band) for the fourth consecutive year. This is a remarkable achievement for someone of Katie’s age, and we are very proud of her success.
Forthcoming shows with the NCO, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, will include performing in Leeds Town Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Fairfields Hall, Lady Walton's residence in La Mortella in the Bay of Naples, and Rome in September. The NCO quartet will also be playing in the House of Lords, hosted by Lord Bingham of Cornhill, in June to raise funds for NCO future development.
We wish her the best of luck in these performances!
