Story by: Mr Lawrence Haigh (Director of Music)

At the end of the summer term, the Middle School Choir embarked on an exciting five day music tour of Venice. More than forty students participated and the trip was unanimously held to be a magnificent success.
The girls performed the two opening concerts in Venice; the first at St Lio (Vivaldi’s church) and the second at St Giovanni (Monteverdi’s church). The group then travelled inland to sing in the beautiful town of Marostica. The tour culminated with a return to Venice and the choir gave their last performance at the world famous St Mark's for their evening service. All of the concerts received appreciative audiences and the girls sang and played with tremendous enthusiasm despite the hot, and on occasion stormy, weather.
The trip was not all hard work; there was plenty of time for shopping, sun bathing and ice creams. The Yr 7s had great fun burying both Miss Mills and Mr Haigh in sand! Congratulations to all the students and staff for making the tour such a wonderful success.
