Royal Academy of Arts visit

On Friday 25th April, a group of Yr 12 students currently studying AS Traditional History paid a visit to the Royal Academy of Arts to see an exhibition of the works of Lucas Cranach the Elder (c.1472 - 1553).

Since part of the AS course involves the study of the religious reformation during the Tudor period, Cranach's role as a painter of Protestant propaganda at that time had been discussed in class. It was therefore fascinating for the girls to see paintings from that era first hand - particularly Cranach's famous portrayal of Adam and Eve.

The trip ended with a quick visit to a nearby ice cream parlour!
