Admission to the Junior School (8 � 10 places)
Girls enter the Junior School (Year 3) in their 7th year. Thus, for September 2009 entry at 7+, girls must have a date of birth between 1 September 2001 and 31 August 2002. We register applications for entry in September in the period between May and November of the previous year. Applications for 2009 entry will open on 1 May 2008 and the closing date is 15th November 2008
The Entrance Tests take place in January prior to the September entry.
The process is in two stages. The first stage involves preliminary written tests which assess literacy and numeracy. Selected candidates are then called for interview and a practical session. For the first stage tests, the 7 year old candidates will be expected to:
1. Write a story using full sentences and some interesting vocabulary.
2. Read fluently with understanding in order to give answers to written questions.
3. Write the answers to these questions in simple sentences.
4. Understand the concept of addition, subtraction, multiplication and 'sharing'/division and to be able to apply these rules to 'story' sums.
5. Know the 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 times tables.
6. Have a basic understanding of time, money and block graphs.

Fees
Financial matters are dealt with by the Bursar. If you have any queries about these matters, please contact the Bursar's office.
Fees for 2008/9 Academic Year for the First and Junior Schools are £3372 per term (less a discount of £20 for prompt payment, £40 if paid by termly direct debit)
There is a separate charge of £511 per annum for First School lunches and £601 per annum for Junior school lunches.
Individual music lessons for girls from Year 3 upwards are charged at the rate of £200 per term.
Deposit
A deposit of half of one term's fees is required when a place is accepted. This is returned at the end of a pupil's school career.
