Each year the Mathematics department invites outside speakers to talk to the students as part of Maths and Science Week. This year the Yr 10 students investigated different ways of building bridges and looked at the Mathematics behind some of the structures.
Yr 8 students attended a workshop on ‘The Power of Two’, given by Dr Vinay Kathotia, Clothworkers' Fellow in Mathematics at The Royal Institution of Great Britain. Previous speakers have included Johnny Ball who spoke on the contribution Mathematics has made to our development as a species and Rob Eastaway, writer of many popular Mathematics books.
