Our two well-stocked libraries are always busy with girls taking advantage of the wide range of books, CDs and tapes available to help them to develop their interests. Classes visit the library once a week to develop library skills and do research projects. Using the library encourages the girls to be independent thinkers and to practise the skills needed for project work.
Every day during long break, girls in Yr 3 upwards have the opportunity to read in the library and to borrow fiction and non-fiction books. The Junior School Librarian and a team of volunteer parents help to run the library. Yr 5 girls volunteer for training as library helpers and take responsibility for issuing books on the library computer.
Events such as our annual
Book Week, library quizzes, book club and regular
Author Visits help to promote a love of reading. We also celebrate enthusiastically literary days such as World Book Day and Poetry Day with special events and activities .
