Fantasy Fashion charity...

The Fantasy Fashion Show at North London Collegiate School raises money every year for Karenni refugees in Burma.

The Show was the brainchild of Stephanie Lee (ONL) who worked with the Karenni in Burma during her gap year and beyond. She set up the Karenni Student Development Programme (KSDP) charity to advertise the plight of this persecuted people, and Fantasy Fashion was her way of raising money.

Tragically, Stephanie was killed in a road accident in Burma, aged 21, in 2001. Over 4000 people attended her funeral there and, since then, her family has continued to raise money for the charity and work with the Karenni people.

Last year, Moe Bue, a Karenni refugee, came to the Show and spoke movingly of the plight of her people. Yesterday (June 19th), Moe was a guest at Downing Street to meet the Prime Minister Gordon Brown and David Milliband and tell them about the situation in Burma.
