Mr Dan Fox teaching in Zambia last summer
|
A team of 12 sixth formers are preparing to visit
Zambia this July as part of the ongoing link with Flying Angels
Community
School in
Lusaka.
At present, the team, who are all members of Yr 12, are busy raising funds for a new classroom block which will extend the teaching provision offered by the school to include Yrs 11 and 12.
Upon arrival, the key role of the travelling students will be to act as tutors, teaching assistants and even classroom teachers for the two week duration of our stay. The trip cements the ongoing relationship between our two schools and aims to create lasting improvements at Flying Angels, whilst providing North London students with a unique opportunity to experience a vastly different and incredibly rich local culture.
Furthermore, it is with great delight that I am able to report that a group of students who travelled to
Zambia on the inaugural visit last year, are set to return independently this year, to run a summer school during August for local children to attend.
